Plans, coordinates and performs manufacturing engineering work for a project or process of limited scope. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel, including contractors. Work plans and decisions are typically made within the established guidelines and reviewed by others. Duties: Provides support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Investigates, gathers and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks. Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope. Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope. Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions. Develops and implements plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the client Production System. Designs operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation. Participates in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency. Implements new manufacturing processes and technology. Modifies existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans.
This position will start off as 1st shift but will move to 3rd shift if/when the need arises to add a shift. 3rd shift hours are 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. Business casual dress code. Will need metatarsals for first day.
In this role, you will:
Provide on-site shop-floor support for production critical Factory Automation solutions and equipment that require quick response to guarantee uptime and productivity.
Be responsible for changes to control logic and software including, but not limited to: relay ladder logic, PLCs, HMIs, and PC based logic.
Provide electrical designs within applicable standards to build new or modify existing production machines and systems.
Work with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Factory Automation Leads to ensure manufacturing and standardization goals are achieved.
What It Takes:
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on planning and executing projects, solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have an Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related undergraduate degree.
In addition, we require:
3+ years of experience with Factory Automation (including but not limited to: PLC Programming, PC Programming, SQL Database, Vision Systems, AutoCAD Electrical, mistake proofing integration, communications with shop-floor devices).
3+ years of experience with PLC programming.
3+ years of experience designing electrical controls systems.
Strong communication skills to effectively interface with multiple groups.
Ability to work variable hours/shifts as needed.
A strong desire to solve problems and find solutions that drive a commitment to standardization while improving manufacturing processes and information flow.
A strong candidate will also have:
Basic understanding of Kepware or other OPC servers.
Basic understanding of mistake proofing concepts
Basic understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems.
Basic understanding of Ignition and TrakSYS, client standard OEE/OPE tools
